Step into the world of Hoglets Preschool, where every day is an adventure in learning, play, and discovery. We've crafted a routine that blends stimulating activities with ample free play, ensuring a warm, nurturing, and engaging environment for your child.
Our daily rhythm: morning adventures
The day begins with a warm welcome between 8:00 and 8:45 AM, setting a positive tone for the hours ahead. This is followed by a period of free play until 9:00 AM, allowing children to settle in and explore at their own pace. From 9:00 to 9:20 AM, we gather for register and story time, fostering a love for reading and developing listening skills. The morning continues with a mix of free play and planned activities, alongside free flow exploration from 9:20 to 10:15 AM. We then have tidy-up time, followed by snack, toilet, and hand-washing routines from 10:15 to 10:30 AM, promoting independence and hygiene. Our outdoor garden time is a highlight, from 10:30 to 11:30 AM, offering fresh air and active play.
Afternoon explorations and quiet time
Before lunch, children wash hands and visit the toilet from 11:30 to 11:45 AM. This is followed by another engaging story time or key worker group session. Lunchtime is from 12:00 to 12:30 PM, a social occasion for healthy eating. From 12:20 to 1:30 PM, we have dedicated sleep or rest time, ensuring children are well-rested for the afternoon. Quiet time, free flow, and planned activities run from 1:25 to 2:00 PM, providing a balanced schedule. Toilet time and hand washing are at 2:00 PM, followed by tidy-up time. Snack time is at 2:15 PM, and then it’s back to garden time from 2:45 to 3:30 PM. The day concludes with focus groups, singing, or stories from 3:30 to 4:00 PM, creating memorable endings to each day.

Our daily activities are thoughtfully designed to help children develop the skills they need for school through play, exploration, and hands-on experiences. We encourage children to be independent, make choices, solve problems, and express their ideas. Activities such as stories, singing, creative play, early maths, mark-making, outdoor learning, and group activities build essential communication skills. We follow each child's learning journey while supporting them to develop independence, resilience, and confidence in preparation for school. Every child feels safe, cared for, and enjoys their time at Hoglets every single day.
